Youth employment has dropped considerable over the past 30 years. In the 80’s youth employment was approx. 550,000 teenagers and in 2012 that figure was considerable less with around only 220,000 in fulltime employment.
This figure would have change considerable as more teenagers are completing their HSC and going on to higher education.
It’s not all bad when hiring young employees although they don’t have on the job experience they are generally more tech savvy, up to date on social media and bring fresh views to your team. Those three factors alone make them a great investment.
